What if the thing lurking in the shadows isn't here to ruin your life?
What if it just needs a name, a snack, and for you to ask it wants?
In this playful two-hour mixed-media workshop, you'll create your very own Monster Card and use the creative process to meet a part of yourself that may have been hiding under the proverbial bed.
Through paint, collage, drawing, words, and intuitive art-making, you'll discover:
What is your monster's name?
Where did it come from?
Why is it here?
What has it been trying to protect?
And most importantly… what does it need?
This is shadow work without sitting across from a blank journal trying to figure out what your shadow is.
Instead, we're giving it googly eyes.
Or horns.
Or six arms and an inexplicable fondness for Cheetos.
Your finished Monster Card becomes a visual reminder that the parts of ourselves we avoid aren't necessarily monsters at all. Sometimes they're old protectors, unmet needs, forgotten feelings, or pieces of ourselves waiting to be seen differently.
No artistic experience necessary. Your monster couldn't care less whether you can draw.
Come make something strange, meet something true, and discover what has been hiding in the shadows.
